Kayole Police Bust Huge Phone, Laptop Theft Syndicate

Police officers in Nairobi have successfully dismantled a well-coordinated electronics theft racket operating in Mihang’o, Kayole Sub-County. The breakthrough came after Embakasi Police officers acted on actionable intelligence, tracking a stolen iPhone 15 that led them straight to Breeze Point Apartments on Turin Court.

During the raid, two suspects were arrested and a massive haul of stolen electronics recovered. Among the items seized were 321 assorted mobile phones, seven laptops, multiple mobile phone covers, laptop chargers, an LG music system, and two high-quality speakers. The recovered gadgets have been secured at Embakasi Police Station as investigations continue.

Police confirmed that the stolen iPhone 15, which initially triggered the operation, is among the exhibits that will be used in court once the suspects are arraigned. The National Police Service has praised the public for providing crucial intelligence and commended the swift coordination between Kayole and Embakasi officers.

Cases of mobile phone theft in Nairobi estates such as Kayole, Mihang’o, Umoja, and Embakasi have been on the rise, with stolen gadgets often being sold in the black market. Authorities are urging residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities in their neighborhoods to curb similar rackets.
