The Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) portal will open on Monday, September 7, 2026, allowing secondary schools across the country to register and update their sports teams and players ahead of the 2027 sporting year.
According to an update issued through the KSSSA Media Centre, the registration window will remain open until November 15, 2026. Schools, coaches and sports officials are expected to use this period to ensure that player and team information is accurately recorded on the digital platform.

KSSSA portal registration deadline
The KSSSA portal will be open for approximately two months, from September 7 to November 15, 2026.

The official KSSSA website provides a digital platform for school sports administration, including user registration and access for authorised school officials.
Importance of KSSSA digital registration

The Ministry of Education has previously directed that student-athletes participating in KSSSA competitions be registered digitally through the KSSSA platform, which is integrated with the education management system. The system is intended to help verify learner information and address challenges associated with manual registration, including impersonation, age cheating and falsified documentation.

The registration exercise comes as the KSSSA competition programme continues to expand.
In 2026, several disciplines were introduced to the KSSSA Term Two programme, including cricket, lacrosse, baseball, beach volleyball, chess and scrabble.
The expansion provides additional opportunities for students with diverse sporting talents to compete at school, regional and national levels.
The 2026 national competitions included Term One games in Kisumu and Term Two championships in Kiambu County. The programme featured sports such as football, volleyball, netball, rugby, badminton, table tennis, chess and scrabble.

With the portal scheduled to open on September 7, coaches and school sports officials have an opportunity to begin preparations well in advance of the 2027 season.
