A man, Identified as Michael Kibet allegedly committed suicide after failing to secure a job; according to reports shared by @Goddie-ke.
Michael Kibet, reportedly graduated from Jkuat in 2021, ICT. He was just 26 years old.
He Graduated with a first class honours. In his KCSE results, the young man is said to have scored a straight A and joined campus.
“I saw someone say mtu haezi commit suicide akikosa kazi, comrades from humble backgrounds understand the struggle & how depressing it gets ukiona it was all in vain.” A statement seen by K47 news team read.
“Recently we talked about the same…You find jobs are being handed out as favors in the public/private sector to unqualified people while brilliant minds sink into drugs and depression. Unpaid interns are being enslaved to work while the ’employee’ sits at home or sips coffee akingoja salary end month.” Lamented Godfrey.
Godfrey has advised the Gov’t to provide favourable environment for young men to flourish.
“Allow me to rant. Ni vibaya sana young lives resulting to suicide out of desperation. Also, please don’t take your life.”
“If the government says youths should venture into self employment, provide avenues/support. We have the will but lack resources.”
