Detectives from Kilimani Police Station have detained Consolata Nyangai, a notorious suspect linked to drugging and robbing revellers at popular Nairobi nightlife spots. Her arrest follows a report filed by a Chadian national who accused her of stealing after a night out.

In his statement dated November 9, according to DCI report on X platform formerly twitter, the victim revealed that he met Consolata at Gemini and Quivers clubs and later invited her to his residence at Spring Gardens Apartments. After consuming several drinks, the victim alleged that Consolata stupefied him and stole USD 4,000, Ksh 10,000, a Samsung S20, and a Corn C105 phone before fleeing.

Detectives conducted a forensic-led investigation that led to her arrest at her hideout in Hunters, Kasarani sub-county. During the operation, police recovered the stolen phones, which the complainant positively identified.

Authorities also found a newly purchased 75-inch Samsung TV worth Ksh 107,000 and a Ramtons cooker valued at Ksh 55,000 at the suspect’s residence. The items are suspected to have been bought using proceeds from the crime.

Further scrutiny revealed two national identity cards—one Kenyan and one Ugandan—bearing different names but the same photograph of Consolata, raising questions about her true identity.

DCI says Consolata remains in custody at Kilimani Police Station and is set to appear in court on Monday, November 18, 2024.
