The sport CS Ababu Namwamba risk losing his Job over the stamped that took place during Mashujaa day.
The stampede saw at least four people dead and a couple of them injured.
Taking to his X platform formerly twitter, the Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei condoled with the affected families.
“My heart goes out to the families and friends who lost their loved ones after stampede at kericho stadium yesterday.” Said Cherargei in a statement.
Cherargei laid blame on the sports CS Ababu Namwamba on what he termed “unfortunate incident” adding that the CS should be held responsible for the incidents.
“The supervising ministry of sports CS Ababu must held responsible for this unfortunate incident. This is clear pointer of substandard work done by the ministry at the stadium. The incident embarrassed all of us. My apologies to the entire country.”
His remarks come soon before the UDA Secretary General Hon Cleophas Malala sent his condolences to the family who lost their loved one.
“The UDA Party expresses sympathy for the lives lost following a stampede during the Mashujaa Day celebrations in Kericho.”
“It is sad to lose lives on a day that was meant to be a momentous time of celebrations nationally; a day to show our appreciation to our national heroes.”
“Our condolences go to the families who lost their loved ones in the unfortunate incident.” Said Malala in a statement seen by K47 digital news team.
Adding: “We pray that God comforts you and grants you the grace and strength to bear this grave loss.
“Poleni sana. May the souls of the departed rest in eternal peace.
“We equally pray for quick recovery to those who sustained injuries in the stampede.
“We request that organizers of such events will in future be cautious to ensure safety measures are put in place to avoid similar calamities where life is lost unnecessarily.”
