Gideon Kibet, known online as ‘Kibet Bull’ and the creative force behind the viral ‘Kasongo’ cartoons depicting President William Ruto, has been reported missing. Concerns are mounting that he may have been abducted due to his controversial artwork.
In recent weeks, social media platforms have been flooded with satirical cartoons portraying President Ruto and his allies in unflattering scenarios. These illustrations have sparked widespread debate, with some viewing them as a form of political expression, while others perceive them as disrespectful.
The disappearance of Kibet has intensified discussions about freedom of expression in Kenya. Notably, Principal Secretary for Internal Security, Raymond Omollo, stated that the government does not intend to take legal action against the creator of the cartoons. He emphasized the importance of channeling such creativity positively, suggesting that individuals could monetize their skills without resorting to ridicule, Kenyans website reported.

Additionally, online reports suggest that a woman identified as Naomi has been arrested in connection with the cartoons.
