Prominent Kenyan activist Morara Kebaso has once again taken to social media, calling on Kenyans of goodwill to help him raise funds to support his ongoing civic education efforts. Using his platform on X (formerly Twitter), Kebaso urged supporters to contribute towards fuel expenses, a crucial need for his outreach campaigns across the country.
In his post, Kebaso wrote, “I am requesting your support for fuel. Anything little or more we will appreciate. Thank you in advance,” while providing mobile money and bank details for contributions. His appeal highlights two mobile numbers (0708985611 and 0722404397) as well as an NCBA account number (5214840015) for those interested in supporting the cause.
This latest call for support comes just days after Kebaso’s earlier fundraising plea, in which he sought over Ksh 1 million to purchase a public address system. The equipment, according to the activist, would enable him to engage with Kenyans on the ground effectively, especially in his critical stance against President William Ruto’s administration. Kebaso has been vocal in his opposition, focusing on what he describes as unmet promises and accountability gaps in the current government.
Kebaso’s civic education initiative aims to inform Kenyans about their rights, the responsibilities of the government, and the importance of public participation in governance. His activism has gained traction on social media, where Kenyans are both supporting and debating his approach. Many see his actions as a necessary push for transparency and accountability, while others have questioned the strategy of relying on public donations.
