The curtain fell for a man known for his excellent oratorical skills used extensively in the political arena, and his contributions to society through music, education, and literature; Western Kenya Times reports.
Joseph Kubende, 40, died after falling from the fourth floor of his apartment in Kileleshwa, Nairobi.
A close family friend, Mr Justo Misiko posted on his social media page saying “Friends, after consultation with family, this is to confirm to you that I have indeed lost a very close friend and brother. I have witnessed Joseph Kubende breathe his last. We are at Radiant Hospital in Pangani. We plan to move his remains to Kenyatta University Funeral Home. It’s unbelievable, Rest in Peace ndugu,”
Other Western politicians led by Kimilili MP Didmasi Barasa took to Twitter to condole with the family.
“Rest in Peace my good friend Joseph Kubende. I have just confirmed that the blossoming young man has rested after falling from 4th floor of an apartment in Roysambu,”
He added: “A talented orator, storyteller, and vocalist, Kubende would have everyone on their feet anytime he held the microphone. His love for literature saw him offer mentorship in countless schools across the county.”
Former Bungoma Governor Wycliffe Wangamati noted that the lose isn’t for the family alone but Bungoma as a whole.
“My heart goes out to his family, relatives and friends as they try to get to terms with this tragic reality. The loss is immense not just to you but for Bungoma as a whole,”
