A viral whistleblower who exposed alleged corruption in President William Ruto’s Youth Empowerment Programme now claims he’s receiving death threats. In a chilling video shared by The Nairobi Times, the man reveals how armed men on motorcycles confronted him, warning him to back off.
“They Took My Photo and Told Me to Go Home”
The shaken whistleblower recounted his ordeal: “Nilipigwa picha na pikipiki na kifunguu, nikaambiwa enda kwa gate unaletewa. Kufika kwa gate, GSU wakaniambia enda nyumbani.” (They took my photo with a motorcycle and a firearm, then told me to go to the gate where I’d be ‘delivered.’ When I got there, GSU officers told me to go home.)
His exposé, which detailed alleged fraud in the youth fund program, sparked outrage online. Supporters demand government action, while critics accuse him of fabricating claims.
Public Outrage Grows
Kenyans on social media are demanding justice, with hashtags like #ProtectTheWhistleblower trending. Many fear this could silence others from exposing corruption.
Government Yet to Respond
Despite the uproar, no official statement has been issued. Will authorities investigate the threats, or will this case be swept under the rug?
