The Inspector General of Police, Mr. Japhet Koome is currently in Lamu County on a security assessment visit, where he is meeting with the multi-agency teams from Police, the Military, and NGAO involved in the ongoing security operations to ensure peace and tranquility prevails in the area.
This follows after attack in the county in previous days where Kenyans were killed in a suspected Alshabaab terrorists.
Koome, while reassuring the public, reiterated the commitment of the National Police Service to protect life and property, considering the recent attacks that resulted in the loss of innocent lives and unwanton destruction of property in Lamu last week.
