A serious road accident disrupted the calm along TAZAMA Road near the Flames Chilling Spot yesterday morning in Zambia, leaving several people injured. The collision, which occurred at around 11:50 AM on 26 April 2025 Saturday, involved a Toyota Vitz and a Leyland DAF truck.
Eyewitnesses reported that the Toyota Vitz was attempting to overtake another vehicle when it collided head-on with the oncoming Leyland DAF truck. The impact was so severe that parts of the Toyota Vitz were scattered across the road, causing a temporary traffic jam as authorities worked to clear the wreckage.
Tragically, among those injured was a pedestrian who happened to be walking near the site of the accident. Emergency response teams, including paramedics and police officers, arrived swiftly at the scene and administered first aid before transporting the victims to a nearby hospital for further treatment. The extent of the injuries sustained has not yet been officially confirmed, but reports indicate that some are in critical condition.
Authorities have since launched an investigation to determine the exact cause of the crash. Motorists have been urged to exercise caution while using the TAZAMA Road, especially near busy areas like the Flames Chilling Spot.
