Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority has announced change of fuel prices by tomorrow, the 30th May 2023.
This follows after president William Samoe Ruto assented into law the 2023 fiasco bill.
“On 26th June 2023, H.E. the President Dr. William Ruto signed into law the Finance Bill, 2023 introducing a 16 percent VAT on petroleum products.” A statement from EPRA reads.
Accordingly, says, it will tomorrow 30th June 2023 release the reviewed petroleum prices in compliance with the finance bill 2023.
Also the EPRA noted that LPG is one of the cleanest sources of cooking fuel making it a suitable alternative to traditional fuels such as biomass.
“At the household level, most LPG accidents are caused by faulty cylinders that emanate from illegal refilling activities.”
advices the public not to repair or fix LPG accessories on their own in case of a malfunction; instead, call for help from your licensed LPG retailer at the point of purchase
