One distressed resident took to social media, urgently pleading for help as the building sank. “We urgently need help at Uthiru next to IRLI,” the resident posted online, highlighting the desperate situation faced by those trapped inside.

Naipamei Kaikai, CEO of Youth Champion for SDG, voiced her concerns on social media, questioning the cause of the collapse in a country not known for seismic activity. “I’m glad that there are no casualties in the collapsed building in Uthiru. Now here is my take; what caused the collapse yet we ain’t a country of earthquake?” Naipamei Kaikai remarked, emphasizing the need for stringent regulations to prevent such incidents and protect Kenyan lives.
The collapsed building also led to the disappearance of four individuals, including three children and their nanny. Fortunately, no casualties were reported from the incident, but the emotional toll on families and the community remains significant.
