Presided William Samoe Ruto has requested salary increase for civil servants and teachers.

President William Ruto, requested SRC to hold off the 14% pay rise to senior state officials.

The first in command has also directed the commission to raise the civil servants pay by 7-10% from July to cushion them against the rising costs of living.

Ruto detailed that, “for the other people, the state officers, myself, my deputy, ministers, PSs na wale wadosi wengine wa bunge, sisi mambo yetu tungojee. Hiyo mshahara itakwama hapo.”

Ruto disclosed that CRC should do so in order to reduce the gap among workers.

“I have instructed the SRC to give us international best practice because we need to reduce the gap between all of us who work for the people of Kenya.

“We need to make sure that the gap between the person paid the least and the person paid the most is not too big.” He said.
