President William Ruto has congratulated United Democratic Alliance (UDA) candidates who emerged victorious in the just-concluded by-elections across seven constituencies, terming their success a testament to Kenya’s strength in unity and democratic maturity.
In a message shared on his official X account, President Ruto applauded the elected leaders for securing what he described as “deserved wins.” The President celebrated David Ndakwa (Malava), Leonard Wamuthende (Mbeere North), Ahmed Hassan (Banisa), Vincent Chemitei (Baringo), Moses Omondi (Ugunja), Harrison Kombe (Magarini), and Boyd Were (Kasipul), noting that their victories reflect the confidence Kenyans have in the UDA party’s leadership and vision.
“Congratulations David Ndakwa (Malava), Leonard Wamuthende (Mbeere North), Ahmed Hassan (Banisa), Vincent Chemitei (Baringo), Moses Omondi (Ugunja), Harrison Kombe (Magarini), and Boyd Were (Kasipul) for your deserved win! Your victory is a powerful reminder to us that we are bigger and better as a country when we are united,” President Ruto wrote.
The sweeping win further strengthens UDA’s political presence across the country, signaling growing grassroots support ahead of future national elections. Analysts say the by-election results could boost the ruling party’s legislative influence and energize its support base.
Ruto’s message also appeared to emphasize unity, peace, and national cohesion—an appeal widely interpreted as an effort to consolidate political stability amid ongoing national debates on governance, development, and economic transformation.
The newly elected leaders are expected to assume their roles immediately and begin delivering on their campaign promises, with citizens eager to see improved service delivery and local development initiatives.
The by-election victories mark a significant milestone for UDA, reinforcing its dominance while setting the stage for heightened political momentum heading into 2025.
