10 injured as the ministry of environ’ chopper crash – Lamu.
The Ministry of Environment caravan aircraft 5Y GOK has crashed at Kiunga, Lamu county carrying 9 Soldiers and one police officer.
According to preliminary reports, 10 people have been reportedly injured after an aircraft crashed and burst into flames.

The chopper is reported to have developed a mechanical issue that was earlier ignored.
The soldiers and police officers who were onboard have luckily escaped unhurt.
No casualties have been reported so far.
It is reported that the aircraft, flew to Kiunga last week to pick up students from Kibaoni who had done well in the 2023 KCPE examinations for a trip to Nairobi.
It is said to have flew the students back safely on Sunday morning.
As the plane was taking off from the Kiunga airstrip with ten people on board including two pilots, seven army officers and one police officer, it hit electric poles and crashed, bursting into flames and burning beyond recognition according to local TV stations.
