20 firearms recovered after public Baraza, two arrested – Turkana.

Twenty firearms were reportedly recovered during a Public Baraza held at Kakong Trading Centre on the 9th of May 2023 by H.E the Governor of Turkana County Hon. Jeremiah Lomorukai accompanied by the County Commissioner Turkana Mr. Jacob Ouma.

“… A total of 20 firearms were surrendered to National Government Administration and National Police Service officers.”

The meeting was also attended by County and Sub-County Intelligence Committee members, Turkana Women Rep. Ms Cecilia Asinyen Ngetit, local MCAs and County employees.

Elsewhere in Baringo County Tiaty East, NPS says, one serviceable illegal AK-47 rifle with an empty magazine was recovered and two suspects in connection to the recovery arrested.

The two suspects, according to police reports, are amongst those sought after a robbery with violence incident that happened on 12th April 2023 within Kiserian area in Marigat Sub-County.
