Seven Armed Suspects Nabbed as Malindi Police Raid Gangs

In a decisive move to restore peace and security in Kilifi County, police officers from Malindi Police Station on Sunday carried out a high-stakes operation targeting criminal gangs in the Soweto area of Malindi Sub-County.

According to authorities, the intelligence-led crackdown resulted in the arrest of seven suspects who were allegedly armed with crude weapons and believed to be behind a spate of insecurity in the region. The suspects are currently in police custody and will be arraigned in court to face charges.

The National Police Service (NPS) emphasized its unwavering commitment to dismantling organized gangs and ensuring the safety of all Kenyans. Security officials noted that such operations are part of an ongoing nationwide crackdown against criminal groups that have been terrorizing residents in urban and rural areas alike.

“The safety of Kenyans remains our top priority. We are determined to eliminate gangs that threaten peace and security,” read part of a statement from the NPS.
