Unemployed Primary Teacher Education (P1) graduates have announced plans to storm the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) headquarters in Nairobi on Friday.

They are demanding immediate employment and expressing frustration over being overlooked in favor of diploma holders and higher qualifications under the Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC).

The group has criticized the Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT) for failing to champion their cause. They claim that TSC prioritizes younger candidates, leaving many veteran P1 teachers struggling despite meeting basic employment qualifications.

In response, the teachers plan a peaceful demonstration to push for fair employment policies, including a focus on P1 graduates for primary school teaching roles.
