Top Five Things that made Ruto unpopular In 2023.

Before the 2022 elections president William Samoe Ruto was the darling to Kenyans especially the middle and low class citizens in Kenya. His words and promises were taken like a gospel truth that know one dared to question his capability to deliver despite many shortcomings as a DP to former head of state.

Slowly by slowly, gullible Kenyans who expected soft life after president Ruto’s win are learning the hard ways.

During the 2022 general elections, Ruto’s posed himself as a saviour to failing economic. However, his current state is proving otherwise.

KSh 300 Gas Cooking.

In the wake of opposition chief Raila Amolo Odinga’s call for Demonstration, President Ruto promised to bring down the prices of 6kg gase from over ksh3000 to sh300 by June. However this never came to pass. During the first in the command’s interview with the local TV station, Ruto turned down his promise and said that he had promised to bring down the price of the gas cylinder without Liquified Petroleum Gas. This broke the hearts of many optimistic Kenyans.

Over 40 foreign trips in one years.

President William Ruto has made over 40 foreign trips in since the beginning of the year. This was despite the country doing bad in terms of inflation and high cost of living. However, Ruto defended this by saying that the trips were meant to negotiate job opportunity for young Kenyans abroad and bring investers in the country. However, this didn’t sit well with most Kenyans.

Embezzlement of public funds by Ruto’s Unpopular minister:

Most of president Ruto’s ministers have been embroiled in embezzlement of public funds during their foreign trips. Others including their families and friends in the list of the attendants. This has seen Kenyans reacting negatively on social media platforms. CS Murkomen was spotted somewhere with expensive watch, shoes and outfits in general. The president himself with a “crocodile belt” among others.

Constant blackouts at JKIA:

There has been a constant blackouts at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport which hasn’t sank well amongst Kenyans. The blackouts were attributed to failure at the main Power generating plant and generator at JKIA.

Unfulfilled Promises.

There are many promises that president William Samoe Ruto has failed to fulfill. At one point, he said the dollar 💰 will drop to bellow Ksh115 l. However, the Kenyans shilling seems to be on a free fall against the dollar. This has made life even unbearable as most commodities are imported in dollars.

Unfavourable Taxes That Made Ruto Unpopular.

The financial bill 2023/2024 was another lion in the house. House levies, double taxation of employed Kenyans, paying for Provident funds, NSSF among others. Introduction of two years internship among newly graduated teachers has caused pain to most of them.
