JKIA closed after an aborted take off, over “technical issues”

The Jomo Kenyatta International Airport has released a statement following an aborted take off by Cargo plane.

According to reports gathered, JKIA says it “has temporarily closed” its operation “due to an aborted takeoff by Cargo plane that developed technical issues this morning.”

“Our top priority is the safety of all passengers and we are working closely with the relevant authorities to resolve this situation as quickly and safely as possible.” A statement seen by K47 news read in part.

JKIA further noted that as a result of the runway closure, all incoming and outgoing flights have been temporarily suspende”

JKIA apologiesed to its customers following the the in convenience caused
“We regret any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.”

It added: “We advise all passengers to contact their respective airlines for further information on the status of their flights.”
