Tension High as Crucial Election Materials Land Ahead of 27th November 2025 By-Elections
The countdown to the highly anticipated 27th November 2025 by-elections has officially entered its final phase, following the successful delivery of election materials across all 22 electoral areas. The Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has confirmed that the distribution process is progressing smoothly, signalling increased preparedness ahead of polling day.
One of the key highlights of the distribution exercise is the arrival of election materials in Banisa Constituency, where they were airlifted directly from Nairobi due to logistical challenges and the remote nature of the region. According to officials on the ground, the materials were received under tight security, with presiding officers and constituency returning officers overseeing the signing, verification, and secure storage of the items.
The IEBC noted that this marks a significant milestone in its pre-polling operations as it transitions into the final stages of preparation. Activities such as last-mile transportation, polling staff briefing, and polling station setup are scheduled to continue throughout the week to ensure maximum readiness before voters cast their ballots.
The Commission also re-emphasized its commitment to delivering a free, fair, and transparent electoral process. With election materials now in place, focus has shifted to ensuring that all polling stations are fully equipped and operational ahead of the by-election date.
As the political atmosphere heats up and candidates intensify their campaigns, all eyes are now on the IEBC to ensure seamless execution of the by-elections across the 22 affected regions. Voters are urged to stay informed and turn out in large numbers on November 27 to exercise their democratic right.
