Kibabii University Mourns Lecturer Who Foresaw Her Tragic End

The sudden death of Francisca Ihongoyi Kimwama, a beloved 41-year-old lecturer at Kibabii University, has left her family, friends, and colleagues in deep sorrow—especially after she mysteriously predicted her own death in a prayer message just 24 hours before her passing.

The shocking revelation has sparked emotional reactions, with many calling it a divine premonition, reminiscent of biblical figures who foresaw their final moments.

A Prayer That Foretold Death

A day before her tragic demise, Francisca sent a heart-wrenching prayer to her WhatsApp prayer group, echoing the words of St. Joseph, who also prophesied his death.

Her message read:

“O Blessed Joseph, you gave your last breath in the loving embrace of Jesus and Mary. When the seal of death shall close my life, come with Jesus and Mary to aid me. Obtain for me this solace for that hour—to die with their holy arms around me. Jesus, Mary, and Joseph, I commend my soul, living and dying, into your sacred arms. Amen.”

Those who received the message were stunned when she collapsed and died the next day.

The Final Hours: A Day Like Any Other

On Saturday, April 5, 2025, Francisca woke up in high spirits, completely unaware that it would be her last day on earth. She prepared breakfast and left to help her cousin with bookkeeping at a nearby business, just 1 kilometer away.

But tragedy struck just meters from her home. Witnesses say she suddenly collapsed. Bystanders rushed her to Zion Hospital in Bungoma, but doctors couldn’t save her.

A postmortem report confirmed she died from cardiac arrest caused by a blood clot due to atherosclerosis—a condition where arteries harden and narrow.

“From Tomorrow, I Will Not Be Around”

Even more chilling? Francisca had hinted at her death in conversations with colleagues.

Dr. Consolata Simiyu, Chair of Business Administration at Kibabii University, revealed:

“Francisca told a colleague who escorted her home, ‘From tomorrow, I will not be around. Make sure my students have done my CATs.’ The next day, I received the heartbreaking call that she was gone.”

Simiyu described Francisca as a brilliant, organized, and ever-smiling lecturer who had already submitted her exams, course outlines, and lesson plans before her death.

“If there was ever a perfect lecturer at Kibabii, it was Francisca. She planned everything meticulously—even her final tasks were completed before she passed.”

A Mother’s Heartbreak: “We Never Know When Death Will Come”

Francisca’s mother, Susan Muhoji (Mama Fanta), fought back tears as she addressed mourners:

“Let’s change our ways and follow Jesus Christ as our personal savior. We don’t know the day or hour death will strike. Let’s be ready.”

Francisca was supposed to report to work at 8:30 PM that Saturday but never made it.

“The Best Is Yet to Come”

Family lawyer Elizabeth Chunge shared Francisca’s life motto:

“She always said, ‘The best is yet to come,’ because her hope was in Jesus Christ. Even in death, we hold onto that promise.”

Francisca leaves behind two children and a legacy of faith, dedication, and kindness. She will be laid to rest on Friday at their Isibania home in Migori County.

A Community in Mourning

The news of her death has sent shockwaves across Kibabii University, where she was adored by students and faculty alike. Many took to social media to express their grief:

  • “She was more than a lecturer—she was a mentor and a friend.”
  • “That prayer message gives me chills. It’s like she knew.”
  • “Heaven has gained an angel. Rest well, Francisca.”

Lessons from a Life Cut Short

Francisca’s sudden passing serves as a solemn reminder of life’s fragility. Her faith-filled final prayer and eerie premonition have left many reflecting on their own mortality.

As her family prepares to lay her to rest, one thing is clear: Francisca lived with purpose—and left with divine foresight.
