According to a statement shared by the National Police Service (NPS) on their official X (formerly Twitter) page on Sunday, November 9, 2025, the operation was conducted by officers attached to Mtwapa Police Station in Kilifi South Sub-County. “Police officers in Mtwapa, Kilifi South Sub-County, have arrested a suspect believed to be responsible for a series of thefts in Mtwapa Township, following an intelligence-led operation,” the NPS stated.
During the carefully coordinated operation, officers recovered several suspected stolen electronic items, including assorted television sets, a computer CPU, and a pressure cooker. These items were reportedly found in the suspect’s possession and have since been secured as evidence to aid in the ongoing investigation.
The police added that the arrested individual is currently in custody as investigators finalize the case file before presenting it to the court for arraignment. The suspect will face multiple charges related to theft and possession of stolen property.
