It has been a running battle at Chuka Town-Main stage as demonstratirs barricaded Roads and lit fire over one man who was reportedly killed by known men who are rich.
According to reports gathered, the incident, which took place along Nairobi- Embu – Meru highway paralyzed everything as traffic builds up.
There was few police who were overpowered by angry citizens at the scene.
One man was also shot dead during the demonstration.
Taking to Twitter, in his nightly message, the interior CS Kithure Kindiki noted that he has dispatched a high level investigative teams to enquire and recommend legal action against the culprits.
“Tonight, high- level investigative teams have been dispatched to Chuka Town to take over enquiry and recommend legal action on those found responsible for the death of one person last week as well as a second person shot dead during the demonstrations that caused the blocking of the Embu- Meru Highway most of the afternoon today.” Kindiki said in a statement.
He warned any person responsible of facing the law.
“Any person(s) at whom evidence will point shall face the course of justice.”
The CS further said a word of comfort to the families and friends who were affected by the incidents.
“Condolences to the families and friends of the two deceased persons and to the affected communities.”
“Residents are urged to remain calm and allowimpartial investigations following which prosecution shall ensue.” Said the CS.
