Prof Patrick L Lumumba has hit out at the Kenya Kwanza administration over civil servants salary, warning of an eminent coup to president William Ruto led government.
His remarks comes after reports in various media outlets reveals that some members of civil servants including MPs and KBC workers haven’t been paid their March Salaries.
In a statement via twitter, the outspoken law professors likened the the current plight of Kenya to Sri Lanka which led to withdrawl of the Gov’t by the people.
“The Sri Lanka case started exactly like this… untill it reached a point wherethe Government could not pay salaries at all to cadres including security forces.” Said Lumumba in a statement.
He added: “Kenyans of goodwill should be deeply worried that a number of public Institutions have not paid workers salaries for theirs for the month of March,2023.Prof.Ndung’u reveal the problem to Kenyans.”

Lumumba shared an internal Memo from KBC channel one which was signed by its managing director Samuel Maina showing that the state channel workers haven’t been paid.
“Management regrets to inform you that we are unable to pay the March 2023 salaries before Easter Holidays due to unavoidable circumstances.”
“We are working round the clock putting in considerable efforts to ensure that the salaries are paid as soon as possible. Management apologises for the inconveniences caused.” Read the letter from KBC director of management Samuel Maina.
Minority whip Hon Opiyo Wandayi, in a press release noted that MPs haven’t been paid too.
