The third contingent of Kenyan police in Haiti under the Multinational Security Support Mission (MSS) has safely arrived at Port-au-Prince Airport. The group of 217 officers departed Kenya on January 18, 2025, and was warmly welcomed by Haitian authorities.
The officers were accompanied by key security leaders, including the Deputy National Security Advisor and former Inspector General of the National Police Service, Mr. Joseph Boinnet. Joining him were Mr. Gilbert Masengeli, Deputy Inspector General of the Administration Police Service, and Mr. Ranson Lolmodoni, Commandant General Service Unit.
The deployment underscores Kenya’s commitment to bolstering international peace and security through the MSS. This marks the third wave of Kenyan police in Haiti, with another 400 officers set to follow in the coming weeks.
Haiti-Kenya Partnership for Security
The MSS mission seeks to restore stability in Haiti amid ongoing unrest. As per the Haiti map, the security forces are strategically placed to address areas most affected by lawlessness and unrest.
This collaboration highlights Kenya’s growing role in international peacekeeping. The Haiti Kenya police contingent is expected to play a critical role in securing vulnerable communities and rebuilding public trust in security institutions.
Continued Deployment Plans
The remaining officers from Kenya are preparing for deployment to join the MSS mission soon. Their arrival will further strengthen the ongoing operations and support efforts to stabilize Haiti.
