IG Kanja Celebrates Eid with Muslims, Pledges Enhanced Security in Eastleigh
Nairobi, March 30, 2025 – Inspector General of the National Police Service (NPS), Mr. Douglas Kanja, today joined Muslim faithful at Business Bay Square (BBS) Mall in Eastleigh for Eid al-Fitr prayers, marking the end of Ramadan.
Accompanied by Kamukunji MP Hon. Yusuf Abdi Hassan, IG Kanja emphasized the government’s commitment to security, announcing increased police presence and new stations in Eastleigh. He assured residents of improved safety measures, including additional patrol vehicles for better service delivery.
“Security is a shared responsibility,” Kanja stated, urging public cooperation with law enforcement. He extended warm Eid Mubarak wishes to Kenya’s Muslim community, highlighting values of peace and unity.
Key NPS officials, including Spokesperson Mr. Muchiri Nyaga and Nairobi Regional Commander Mr. George Sedah, attended the event. The NPS reaffirmed its dedication to interfaith harmony and nationwide safety during festivities.
