The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has issued a crucial notice requiring all State and public officers to declare their income, assets, and liabilities in compliance with the new Conflict of Interest Act, 2025.
According to the EACC, the Act—which came into operation on 19th August 2025—mandates a two-year declaration of income, assets, and liabilities for the year 2025. Officers are required to make their submissions between 1st November 2025 and 31st December 2025.
The declaration process is a key component in promoting transparency, accountability, and integrity within public service. All State and public officers must file their declarations with their respective responsible Commissions as stipulated in the Act. Failure to comply may result in disciplinary or legal action as provided by law.
In its statement, the EACC emphasized that this exercise aims to strengthen anti-corruption efforts by identifying and managing potential conflicts of interest among public servants. The Commission also encouraged all officers to ensure timely and accurate submissions to avoid penalties.
Further information regarding the declaration requirements and submission process can be accessed on the EACC’s official website at www.eacc.go.ke.
The EACC has urged all public servants to familiarize themselves with the provisions of the new law and adhere to the declaration timelines. The Commission reaffirmed its commitment to upholding integrity in public service through continuous enforcement of ethical standards.
