Lagos State University School of Medicine Hospital said 43 victims of the train-bus collision were still being treated at the facility as of Thursday; punch reports.
LASUTH reported on Thursday that 102 victims of the train derailment were brought in for treatment.
In a statement entitled “Update on Lagos bus and train accidents that occurred on Sunday, March 12, 2023,” the health ministry said on Sunday that 53 victims had been discharged from the hospital as of March 12.
“The total number of patients/passengers discharged as of today, Sunday 12th March, 2023, is 53. The total number of patients on admission as at today, Sunday 12th March, 2023, is 43. LASUTH has 39, General Hospital Odan, Lagos has two, and General Hospital, Gbagada has two.”
While giving the analysis of the distribution of the passengers to hospitals, the ministry details, “Breakdown of location after triage from the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital; LASUTH had 71, GH, Lagos has four victims, GH, Orile-Agege had 10, GH, Gbagada had six and Tollgate Trauma Centre had five of the victim
In addition, of the six reported deaths, two occurred at the scene of the crime and four occurred in LASUTH during resuscitation.
