4 arrested, 15 elephant tusk recovered – Kiambu.

Four people have been reportedly arrested and 15 pieces of elephant tusks recovered following an intelligence led operation in Wangige, Kiambu county last night, DCI reports.

In an operation between DCI officers and Kenya Wildlife Service personnel, the 15 pieces of elephant tusks were reported to have been recovered.

“Four people have been arrested and 15 pieces of elephant tusks recovered following an intelligence led operation in Wangige, Kiambu county last night. In an operation between our officers and Kenya Wildlife Service personnel, the 15 pieces of elephant tusks were recovered.” a statement from DCI reads in part.

K47 has gathered that the four suspects, who were arrested are Daniel Musembi Kimilu, Michael Kimeru Karanja, Charles Njomo Okwach and Jane Wangui Kiarie.

The four are said to be currently in custody at King’eero police station pending arraignment in court.
