The Kisumu Governor Anyang’a Nyong’o has clarified on claims of insecurities of investment in in Kisumu.
In a press release to the media on Monday 17th April 2022, Nyong’o welcomed those who want to invest in Kisumu County.
“On behalf of the people of Kisumu County, I would like to welcome all those who want to visit our county and assure you that you will be safe and secure here.” Said Nyong’o.
Nyong’o detailed that he is aware that propaganda from those who are jealous of Kisumu’s progress has, in view of the demonstrations for electoral justice and lowering of the cost of living by the UDA government, try to portray Kisumu as an insecure place.
“Nothing could be further from the truth.” Nyong’o stated.
Nyong’o hit out at PM Hon. Musalia Mudavadi, saying in an address a few days ago in Western Kenya to a partisan audience, portrayed Kisumu as a place where investments are insecure.
Nyong’o, in a statement revealed that he has never received any complaints from Musalia Mudavadi on regarding the insecurity on his properties investment in the region
“Let it be known that Musalia himself is a landowner and a notable investor in the city of Kisumu. I have not, as the Governor of this great County, received any complaints from him regarding the insecurity of his investments and properties in Kisumu.”
Nyong’o quashed Mudavadi’s claims saying he was busy to please his boss who is president William Samoe Ruto.
“But eager to please his boss by mouthing the typical UDA/Kenya Kwanza propaganda replete with ethnic profiling.”
Nyong’o termed Mudavadi’s claims as reckless ment to achieve narrow selfish political ambitions.
“He has recklessly tried to besmirch the good name that Kisumu enjoys nationally and internationally to achieve a narrow and selfish political ambition.” He said.
“We know that during our demonstrations, goons were bused into Kisumu specificaly to cause havoc in the Central Business District. Let Mr. Mudavadi help stop this kind of sabotage by elements in the Kenya Kwanza brigade.” Added.
Nyong’o continued to say Mudavadi can’t even stand for his own community yet poke nose on others to spread misinformation.
“Since Musalia cannot even fight for his own community, one wonders why he is poking his nose across the border to spread misinformation about Kisumu.”
He reminded Mudavadi how UDA sacked Madam Matilda Sakwa of NYC yet he remained mute.
“The UDA brigade sacked Madam Matilda Sakwa from being the Chief Executive of the NYS a few days ago for no good reason except that she is a Luhyia and her successor a Kalenjin. Why is this not Musalia’s urgent concern?” Nyong’o questioned.
Nyong’o reminded the “good people of this great” county of Kisumu that they are faithful to their party leader Raila Amolo Odinga and the gallant Azimio la Umoja Coalition in struggle to liberate the people of Kenya from political oppression, electoral injustices, economic marginalization and growing poverty and hunger.
“We shall demonstrate peacefully, fully conscious that our detractors are ready to capitalize on these demonstrations to destroy the gains we have made in terms of investments and development. We shall not allow them to succeed.”
Nyong’o added: “Finally, let me remind Mr. Mudavadi that the success of the counties means economic growth for the whole nation and this is the reason we fought for devolution and this what Azimio La Umoja Coalition stands for.”
