Kenyans are up in arm calling for the arrest of Former financial CS Ukur Yatani on spot over missing billions.

Ukuri is syndicated in Ksh 15.5B which was irregularly withdrawn days to general elections.

Controller of budget Nyakong’o says she signed the Ksh. 15.5 under duress

Nyakang’o says withdrawals was allegedly not backed by documents or minutes.

According to Business Daily, former President Uhuru Kenyatta gave a 26-minute ultimatum for the Controller of Budget to release Sh10 billion without MPs approval, just four days before the last General Election.

On August 4, A tense WhatsApp conversation between the Controller of Budget Margaret Nyakang’o and former Treasury Cabinet secretary Ukur Yatani shows Mr Yatani threaten that President Uhuru would personally call her if the billions were not released within 26 minutes.

Dr Nyakang’o has since raised questions on whether the Treasury used the funds for the projects it had disclosed. On August 5, the Controller of Budget also approved a Sh6.01 billion deal that saw the Treasury acquire a 60% stake in Telkom KE from a UK-based private equity fund, Helios.

The total amount that was controversially spent four days to the election thus stands at Sh16.04 billion.

Former Mukurueni MP Kabando wa Kabando has asked Kenyans to have no mercy on those involved.

“Ukur Yatani was taking President Uhuru Kenyatta’s bullet? If he is arrested over corruption, will his ethnic community and Azimio seniors claim vindictiveness and vengeance? Fellow Kenyans, pls have no mercy, whether are Uhuru’s or Ruto’s allies. Hon Raila, now keep off this.” Kabando wa Kabando said.
