The Homa Bay township Member of parliament Hon George Kaluma has shared a scary photo of a form four student who was allegedly brutalised by police.
According to Kaluma, police from Kisumu rained 9 bullets into the student’s body on the left side after gaining entry to where the boy was relaxing in school.
Kaluma details that the boy’s mistake was that he was of the Luo ethnic.
“These are not bruises, but bullet holes, 9 BULLET holes shot at his left back by Kenya police in Kisumu!”
“Don’t forget he’s a 17-year old form 4 student whose only mistake was to be Luo!.”
The MP has accused Kenya Police who he says, raided Nyalenda Estate in Kisumu in the night of 7th July, 2023, pulled citizens from their houses, brutalised and shot dead 18 of them and left several injured.
He shared 11 bodies that were lying at Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital; victims of police brutality.
The MP says “19 citizens who were fatally shot still fighting for their lives. Note that this is in one hospital!.
“There are several bodies and many injured citizens in other hospitals accross Luo Nyanza.”
Adding: “Documentation of these sad incidences of police brutality is at advanced stage: EACH POLICE OFFICER WHO PARTICIPATED IN THIS ORGY OF VIOLENCE WILL BEAR PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY FOR HIS/HER ACTIONS.”
