Azimio pull out of Bi-partisan talks, Give Conditions to resume.

The Azimio La Umoja team has pulled out of the Bi-partisan talks with the Kenya Kwanza Gov’t.

The Orange Democratic Movement Secretary General SG Edwin Sifuna has revealed this via twitter.

In a statement, Sifuna says the Azimio team has suspended bipartisan talks until Hon. Keynan who is a member of Azimio is removed from the Kenya Kwanza team.

“The Azimio team has suspended its participation in the bipartisan talks until such time as Hon. Keynan who remains a member of Azimio shall not be included as part of the Kenya Kwanza delegation.” Said Sifuna in a statement.

The Rarienda MP Otiende Amollo who is the leader of the team chosen on Azimio’s side note that “The Bipartisan Talks Have Been Suspended On Failure To Agree On Composition Of Teams. Azimio’s Objection Is On Principle” arguing that “you Cannot Discuss How To Stop Unlawful Switching Sides With A Member Who Just Did So. The RPP Has Affirmed The Azimio Position.”

This was reached at after Registrar of Political Parties CEO Ann N Nderitu, in response to Azimio noted that there is no agreement between Jubilee and KK and thus Keynan remains an Azimio member.

“Reference is made to the above subject matter and the letter received on 25th April, 2023 regarding the status of coalition agreement between Kenya Union Party, Jubilee Party and Kenya Kwanza Coalition.

“This Office has no official record of any coalition agreement that involves Kenya Union Party, Jubilee Party and Kenya Kwanza Coalition. This office is committed to the institutionalization of the political parties and coalitions.” Said Ann Nderitu.
