In a bid to bolster productivity and tackle the country’s burgeoning wage bill, the Ministry of Public Service, Performance, and Delivery Management has tabled a proposal to transition all public service staff from permanent and pensionable positions to contract terms. The proposal, spearheaded by Principal Secretary Amos N. Gathecha, EBS, ‘ndc’, aims to streamline operations within the public sector and foster efficiency.

According to the communication addressed to Hon. Shadrack J. Mose, Solicitor General at the Office of the Attorney General, a meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, April 24th, 2024, at 2:00 pm, to deliberate on the proposal. The meeting is set to take place at the 5th floor boardroom of Harambee House.

The Ministry has urged the participation of senior officers in this crucial discussion to strategize and explore the feasibility of implementing the proposed transition.
