Kenya’s Narc party leader Martha Karua warned police not to follow illegal orders during the protests.
When the Azimio la Umoja coalition held a public baraza at the Kamukunji compound Sunday 16th April 2023, Karua told police they should not put up with being used to punish Kenyans.
Karua claims that the police were ordered to kill leader of Azimio during an anti-government protest.
Karua offered her condolences to the families who lost loved ones during the Azimio’s protests and the recent Chukas protests.
She argued that the protest was constitutional and did not require permission from President William Ruto.
Karua added that Azimio will continue to protest until living expenses are cut down.
Karua detailed that they are ready to protest peacefully and fight for their rights and shall not relent until every Kenyan gets food on the table and Unga prices are down to Ksh. 100.
“Until school fees are reduced and our children are back to school,” Said Karua.
Karua was keen to note some university Students are home because of school fees.
She also accused the government of wasting funds because subsidies were approved in the budget.
Azimio Brigade confirmed its efforts to open the IEBC servers and stated that the count of constituencies needs to be completed.
Karua gave node for their supporters to return to the street untill the Gov’t bow down to their demands.
