The former presidential contestant Ekuru Aukot has revealed the reason for President William Samoe Ruto’s toxic 2023 budget.
He says the budget is designed to shock and awe Kenyas in to submission and legitimise his presidency which is questionable.
In a statement seen by K47 digital news, Ekuru Aukot wrote: “Fellow Kenyans, let us talk. I know I will earn friends and enemies at the same time with this tweet:
President William Ruto’s toxic #Budget2023 is a creation of his USA and UK backers. It’s designed to shock and awe Kenyans to submission and help Ruto achieve 3 desparate objectives:
Legitimise his presidency, which is remained questionable and suspect so far even with the Supreme Court’s decision.
Help him to sanitise his ill-gotten wealth along with those in his government. Should you be surprised with a government of billionaires disguised as hustlers?
Give moral authority to go for re-election in 2027. It is now up to Kenyans, who are the supreme authority in Kenya, to respond and take charge of their country. Don’t say, I didn’t warn us.”
