Londiani, Kenya – The teaching fraternity is mourning the sudden passing of Madam Abigail Cherotich, a dedicated teacher at Tulwap Kipsigis Junior School. Cherotich, who had just been confirmed as a permanent teacher, succumbed to a short illness, leaving an irreplaceable void in the hearts of her family, colleagues, and students.
Shocking Loss After Confirmation
Cherotich’s passing comes as a major blow to the Tulwap Kipsigis community, as she had recently secured her confirmation—a milestone in her teaching career. Her colleagues describe her as a passionate educator who devoted herself to nurturing young minds.
“We have lost a committed and hardworking teacher whose impact on education will not be forgotten,” said a representative from the Kenya Union of Post Primary Education Teachers (KUPPET).
Fundraiser and Burial Plans
To support the family with hospital bills and funeral expenses, a fundraiser will be held on Thursday, 30th January 2025. Well-wishers are urged to contribute and stand with the family during this difficult time.
The burial arrangements are as follows:
- Friday, 31st January 2025: The body will be moved from Londiani Hospital to her home in Kapsenda, Londiani, where a night vigil will be held.
- Saturday, 1st February 2025: The final burial ceremony will take place.
