In denying Azimio permission, Bungei said. “Protests in early March were marred by violence as protesters armed with machetes attacked innocent residents,”
He spoke this at a press conference on Sunday morning.
He said it resulted in the destruction of property, attack on the members of the public who were not demonstrating by protestors, theft, looting and the deaths of several Kenyan citizens.
He further, Azimio’s protest was not peaceful at all.
“With this letter, we are denying the Azimio team permission to continue protesting and such protests will be stopped by law enforcement officials,” Said Bungei.
