The house CS Charles Hinga Mwaura has been forced to apologize over house levy.

The CS has earlier dismissed the communication strategist Pauline Njoroge’s claims on House Levy terming her a mere blogger who supported the same program under president Uhuru Kenyatta’s regime.

In her statement, Njoroge wrote: “Housing PS @PSCharlesHinga has been on a roll since yesterday, and in a seemingly condescending manner keeps referring to me as “blogger”. Yes he is PS and I am just a blogger.

“But why is he so bothered by my opinion that he spent the whole of yesterday responding to me, and woke up to it again today? I also remember that the first time Ruto insinuated that he would be introducing a housing Levy, I posted a graphic showing the new taxes this administration was introducing or adding, Hinga again so bothered by my post texted me saying that I was misquoting the President and that there was no such a tax being introduced. What is it now? Isn’t it a tax?

“I will repeat something I told him yesterday. That He is a public servant and his arrogance, emotions and getting so personal with this issue paints a man who is pursuing self-serving interests, and this discourse is threatening those interests.

“Finally, bloggers are not less Kenyans. We are citizens and voters and have every right to question government whether senior government officials like himself like it or not. Oh! And what is he doing on twitter yet he is not a blogger?”

“I apologize didn’t intend any disrespect. I choose to respond to you bcoz I was wondering what changed between then and now.

“In the last posting I attached a video of Baba agitating the same policy we are implementing, same policy you supported under jubilee. Lets rest the matter”

Pauline Njoroge replied to house CS Hinga:

“Responding to me was not the issue. Being condescending was. It’s unbecoming of a public servant to take the route you took.

“When Kenyans ask questions, your work as a public servant is to respond to those questions, not to insult them. First there was Ichung’wa calling radio presenters illiterates when they questioned the loans being taken by this administration.

“Then there is you dismissing people as bloggers when they ask questions on social media. This is a worrying trend.

“It shows a crop of public servants who do not want to be accountable, so to run away from the matter at hand they either insult people or start saying this or the other about the previous administration.”
