In a dramatic turn of events along the Kisumu-Nairobi road near the CFAO Center, three notorious criminals who had been ambushing and robbing unsuspecting travelers met their match in undercover officers from Kasagam Police Station. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) broke the news in a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, December 2, 2024.

“Oblivious of a sting operation to end their reign of terror, the trio who were part of a five-man gang pounced on the officers using an array of crude weapons, too late to realize they had carried the wrong weapons in a battle of guns,” read part of the statement, which was seen by the K47 Digital News team.

Caught off guard and outgunned, three of the five suspects surrendered after being ordered to drop their crude weapons. Their two accomplices, however, bolted like “terrified warthogs” and remain at large. Authorities confirmed their identities and are intensifying efforts to apprehend them. The DCI has urged the fugitives to surrender at the Kasagam Police Station.
