In a major breakthrough, police have arrested the primary suspect behind the gruesome murders of individuals whose bodies were discovered at the Kware dumpsite in Mukuru kwa Njenga, located in the Embakasi South Constituency. The suspect has been identified as Collins Jomaisi Khalisia, a 33-year-old man from Vihiga County.

The arrest took place in Nairobi’s Kayole area, where Collins was found at a local club. During the apprehension, he was in possession of multiple SIM cards, further raising suspicions about his involvement in the heinous crimes. According to police reports, Collins is alleged to have killed his victims and disposed of their bodies by wrapping them in polythene bags before dumping them at the Kware site.

Among his alleged victims was his wife, whose body was reportedly dumped in a quarry in 2022. The shocking nature of these murders has sent waves of fear and anger throughout the community. Collins has since been taken to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) headquarters in Kiambu, where he is awaiting further police action and interrogation.

The discovery of these bodies has garnered significant attention, prompting a response from the highest levels of government. President William Ruto addressed the issue during a tree planting event at the Kaptagat Forest Block in Elgeyo Marakwet County on Saturday, July 13. In his speech, President Ruto expressed his outrage over the murders and assured the public that justice would be served.

“Nine bodies were found in Kware, most of them being girls. I have directed the police and related agencies to expedite the investigations,” Ruto stated. He emphasized the urgency of the situation, insisting that those responsible for these heinous acts must be punished in accordance with the law. “I want to assure Kenyans that the perpetrators of this heinous act must be punished and taken to court because killing a Kenyan is an offence under the Constitution,” the President added.

The President’s remarks have put additional pressure on the DCI and other law enforcement agencies to resolve the case swiftly and bring those responsible to justice. The DCI has been urged to initiate thorough investigations to uncover the full extent of the crimes and any potential accomplices involved.
