It was a sad day for Migori county people has over 20 people are feared dead following an accident.
The dead comes after speeding Lorry ramed into a crowd in Migori Town.
At least 20 people died in a horrific truck accident on the morning of Saturday 8 August.
It was gathered that the driver was among the victims with serious injuries.
The truck is believed to have crashed near Migori Primary School after the driver lost control of speed at the CBD.
According to reports from one witness the lorry was speeding into town, when it crashed passers-by, motorists, and boda boda riders as it went down the hill.
He then collided with a sand truck and was forced to stop.
The eye witness noted that were it not for the trucks with sand, the rice trucks (which lost control) would have killed more people.
Police rushed to the scene to control the crowd and traffic, while other rescuers rushed to the scene to rescue the victims and take them to the hospital.
Other bystander resorted to steal rice from the ill-fated truck.
The accident reportedly occurred after the truck’s brakes failed and it lost control on a steep incline.
