An application has been made for formation of new political party in Luo region to rival the opposition boss Raila Odinga’s dominance in the region.
In the letter allegedly from one Thomas Ondijo Owiti who applied to the registrar of political parties, the name suggested are as ODM MPYA, ODM ASILI, ODM KAMILI in order of priority.
“I hereby formally apply for a Political Party Name Reservation for subsequent registration upon fulfilment of your laid down processes/procedures and conditions as per the law.” the letter to the registrar of political parties read in part.
It adds: “The suggested names as per order of priority are as follows:
- ODM MPYA
- ODM ASILI
- ODM KAMILI
I remain hoping to hear from your good office.”
Source says former Nairobi Gov’ Evans Kidero and Lang’ata Mp Oduor Jalango have been tasked to formed ODM ASILI, I ODM MPYA or ODM KAMILI in the next few weeks.
