Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i has taken a significant step in his 2027 presidential ambitions by hiring Canadian lobbying firm Dickens & Madson. The firm, headed by former Mossad agent Ari Ben-Menashe, is set to lobby key agencies in Kenya, the U.S., and other foreign governments to bolster Matiang’i’s international profile and facilitate fundraising efforts.
Documents filed with the U.S. Department of Justice under the Foreign Agents Registration Act reveal that Matiang’i has already paid $65,000 (approximately Ksh 9.5 million) as a down payment. The total retainer fee for the firm’s services is Ksh 32 million.
This move aligns with Dickens & Madson’s reputation for successfully managing high-profile campaigns. The firm recently supported Duma Boko, who emerged victorious in Botswana’s 2024 elections.
Matiang’i’s collaboration with the firm shows his determination to secure influential allies and financial backing as he prepares to challenge for Kenya’s presidency in 2027.
