The International Correspondent CNN reporter Larry Madowo has reacted to facial recognition technology deployed at New York Airport.
Taking to his Twitter Page, Larry said there is no need for passport, boarding pass to get into a plane.
“No passport, no boarding pass, just your face to get on a plane.”
“How do you feel about this facial recognition tech at New York’s JFK Airport?” Posted Larry Madowo.
Larry went further to explain that he is scared of the technology and that it isn’t his first time encounter with it.
“I’m scared of this facial recognition technology. This is not even the first time I’m tweeting about it.”
Madowo recalled his encounter at Delta where he said he used a cap to hide his identity.
“No passport, no boarding pass, just your face! Delta uses facial recognition to board at JFK so I beat it by wearing a cap. This is a scary privacy issue but I didn’t see anybody opt out.”
Madowo added: “There are so many concerns about the use and storage of passengers’ faces in this program. You don’t explicitly sign up for it & there are limited remedies available if you don’t want your biometrics kept. And it’s totally legal.”
One of Larry’s fans advised him not to worry.
“No need to be scared @LarryMadowo but u already give your face n fingerprints every time we log on to our phones. Means all these phone co have our Faces everytime anywhere.” Raphael Maganga
“Sophistication to the highest level.the pace in which tech is taking up everything is fascinating.what we could have next is flight attendees who are robots.” Samuel Nyaga wrote.
