The Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki has revealed the plan by the Gov’t to take goodies in war torn region.
In a statement via twitter, Kindiki noted that the Government will establish Education and Agriculture for peace initiatives along Kerio Valley belt to bolster the region’s economic and social fortunes.
He said the policy of President William Ruto’s administration is to accord all parts of the country with the same standards of security. All Kenyans deserve and have a right to safety and security.
“The Government will not condemn or profile any community but identify, track, arrest, and prosecute individual criminals involved in livestock theft and killing of innocent people.
“Political, community, and religious leaders inciting the public to cause violence, raid their neighbours, and cause disharmony, will be apprehended and prosecuted, their political allegiance or social status notwithstanding.” Part of the statement reads in part.
Kindiki spoke this when he addressed a peace and security baraza meeting at Chesogon, at the intersection of Elgeyo Marakwet, Baringo, and West Pokot Counties.
Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Wisley Rotich, Tiaty MP William Kamket, Sigor MP Peter Lochakapong, among other leaders, reportedly attended the meeting.
