The videos footage shared by Alvin Ogola shows a raging fire burning the Kibra ICC church.
According to the reports, the nubians who were reportedly armed with pangas and machetes are said to be taking revenge for the mosque that was burnt in karanja at arround 7pm.
“Just in ,a group of rowdy nubians have started fire at olympic near the Kibra AIC church. The nubians were armed with pangas and machetes ,and were taking revenge for the mosque that was burnt in karanja at arround 7pm. Pray for kibra.” @alvinogolla_posted.
The Kieleleswa MCA Robert Alai says the Government is the cause.
“The government leaders caused the anarchy being witnessed in Kibra. They think they are hurting someone else. They might not be able to stop what they have started. Destroying the country for short gains.” He posted.
The Human Rights Activist Boniface Mwangi noted that things are getting nasty in Kibra, just like the government wanted.
“I will not share the photos and videos I’m receiving but it’s getting bad. There are thousands of police officers in Nairobi to contain #Maandamano, can they be deployed in Kibra to protect life and property?”
Boniface blames the Government in fuelling the ethnicity amongst community in Kibra.
“State operatives are working hard to fuel ethnic violence in Kibra. I hope that the people of Kibra will not burn and destroy property to make political statements. We must resist turning on each other at such a time as this. @NPSOfficial_KE must be deployed to keep law and order.” Said Boniface Mwangi.
He says that state operatives paid goons to attack journalists so that they could leave Kibra then went in with a group of civilians from the same area to contain pro-Raila protestors. After the government’s dirty work was done, the police left.
“I see the state and some of their supporters want to blame me for the premeditated and organised violence that’s happening in Kibra. Nairobi has become like a military barracks, thousands of officers on standby, why are they not in Kibra and Northlands?” Said Mwangi.
