Kenyans hit out at Mt Kenya leaders for “cheering” police brutality; 3 killed.

Kenyann on twitter have taken issues with the Mt Kenya leader for cheering police brutality during Azimio’s demonstration while condemning the same when it happens in their regions.

This follows after police reportedly killed three demonstrators in Thataka Nithi county in Chukka stage.

The demonstration was reportedly triggered by the killing of one of their own yet the killer are walking freely despite being known.

The demonstration spill over to the night of 8th April. Locals lit fire and barricaded roads, leading to build up of traffic.

Leaders in the region have since condemned the police brutality sparking the reaction over their earlier celebration of police as heroes when the same brutality was metted on opposition chief Raila Amolo Odinga’s supporters.

“Yesterday, demonstrations were in Tharaka Nithi. The police used live bullets, killing 3 people, including the Chair of the Boda Boda Association. Leaders who cheered the police for clobbering Azimio demos, are screaming including the Governor. They say when you feed a dragon, be prepared for it might develop an appetite for you. Police brutality has no sides. We should condemn it at all times.” Said @jumaf3 posted.

Human rights activists Cyprian Nyakundi noted that one notable fact is the Governor Muthomi Njuki, Chuka Igambang’ombe mp, and Maara Mp condemned the violence and blamed police for being rogue and using live bullet to disperse peaceful demonstrators.

“Last week, they applauded the police for being professional when violently dispersing Azimio rallies. The shoe is on the other leg. What’s good for the goose is good for gander.” Stated Cyprian Nyakundi.
